Basketball Preview: Herington Railroaders vs. Hartford Jaguars
Having just played yesterday, the Herington Railroaders will head out on the road to face off against the Hartford Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-30, which was the final score in Herington's tilt against Wabaunsee on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Chargers are ranked 74th).
Leslyn Kremeier put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 16 points and eight boards.
Even though they lost, Herington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bluebirds 12-6 in the first quarter.
Hartford's record is now 13-6. As for Herington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
