Onsted hadn't done well against Madison recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Onsted Wildcats slipped by the Madison Trojans 28-27. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Trojans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 45-36 loss.

Onsted's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexie Klotz, who posted five points. The dominant performance also gave Klotz a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (33%).

When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, don't look at Mariana Carbajal-Fuentes. Despite the final result, she had nine points and eight rebounds. Carbajal-Fuentes is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Parish, who put up ten points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Onsted and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Madison, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Onsted has already played their next game, a 49-24 win against Hillsdale on the 6th. As for Madison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-21 loss against Tecumseh on the 3rd.
