Basketball Recap: Oxon Hill Takes a Loss

Oxon Hill played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Largo Lions, falling 81-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Clippers still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Oxon Hill still got an impressive performance from Donnell Dorsey, who posted 15 points. The contest was Dorsey's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Harris, who scored ten points.

Largo was led to victory by Cameron Ward and Jalen Johnson. Ward went 9-for-14 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Johnson went 9-for-13 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. Ward has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 38 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zion Dixon, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points.

Oxon Hill's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Largo, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Oxon Hill has already played their next game, a 68-59 defeat against Fairmont Heights on the 13th. As for Largo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 79-48 victory against Potomac on the 13th.
