Baseball Recap: Windom Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windom). They blew past Mountain Lake/Comfrey 19-9 on Monday. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Quintin Tietz was a standout: he fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3.4 RBI per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Tietz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Quintin wasn't the only one making solid contact: Windom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

Windom's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Mountain Lake/Comfrey, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Windom will be playing at home against Pipestone at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Lake/Comfrey, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
