Football Recap: Catholic Memorial Falls Short Against Ranked St. John's Prep

Catholic Memorial faced St. John's Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Knights lost to the Eagles on the road by a 43-28 margin. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the loss, Catholic Memorial still got an impressive performance from Kise Flannery, who rushed for 54 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 176 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. A healthy portion of Flannery's aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Caleb Garrity, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Catholic Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for St. John's Prep, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Catholic Memorial will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Boston College High at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for St. John's Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Framingham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
