Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Santa Fe Indian's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

The third road matchup was the charm for Santa Fe Indian, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against the Capitan Tigers by a score of 5-1 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Adrianne Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abrielle Herrera, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Santa Fe Indian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Capitan and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe Indian will square off against Newcomb at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Capitan, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Capitan Tigers challenge Tularosa Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
