Volleyball Recap: Tehachapi's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six + How To Watch

Tehachapi waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the West Vikings by a score of 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-1 win back in September.

Tehachapi had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20.

Lilyana Bundt paced Tehachapi's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bundt got some help from Lola Napier and her 18 assists. Finally, Bundt was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

West's loss came despite strong showings from Marciela Dizon and Jolene Quezada. Dizon had seven digs and one block, while Quezada had 18 digs, three aces, and one block. Dizon has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Tehachapi's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tehachapi will host Golden Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for West, they will be playing at home against East Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
