Softball Recap: Hebbronville's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hebbronville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the United South Panthers a 5-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Hebbronville let Avalee Rodriguez and Kailey Pena run wild. Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Pena went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Theresa Salinas was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Hebbronville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as United South struck out seven times.

Hebbronville pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs over those games. As for United South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Hebbronville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for United South, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. United South is facing Martin at the right time seeing as Martin is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
