Baseball Game Preview: Seminary Bulldogs vs. Germantown Mavericks

The Seminary Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Germantown Mavericks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seminary is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.

On Friday, Seminary was able to grind out a solid win over Magee, taking the game 6-1.

Slade Bullock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jomarrion 'JoJo' Flowers, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Germantown had taken Madison Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Mavericks took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seminary pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
