Basketball Recap: Minto Wins High-Profile Contest Against Cook Inlet Academy

On Saturday, Minto faced Cook Inlet Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Minto Lakers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lakers have posted since December 28, 2024.

Minto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayla Baker, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Naomi Fox, who earned 12 points.

The victory got Minto back to even at 6-6. As for Cook Inlet Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
