Recap: Hutto Hippos vs. Bryan Vikings

The Hutto Hippos waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Bryan out 66-63. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.

Hutto had a senior duo take command as Will Hammond rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry and Alex Green picked up 365 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Green's longest reception was for an incredible 88 yards.

Bryan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah nutall, who rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Lewis, who gained 234 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Bryan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Hutto will head out on the road to face off against Weiss on Thursday. Weiss will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Bryan will take on Harker Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Harker Heights' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
