Basketball Game Preview: Duluth East Greyhounds vs. Grand Rapids Thunderhawks

Duluth East hasn't had much luck against Grand Rapids recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Duluth East Greyhounds will face off against the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks at 7:15 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-20, which was the final score in Duluth East's tilt against Blaine on Friday. The game marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Grand Rapids came into Friday's contest having lost 17 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Hibbing with a sharp 73-51 victory on Friday. The Thunderhawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Grand Rapids' win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17. As for Duluth East, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Duluth East took a serious blow against Grand Rapids in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 61-33. Can Duluth East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
