Baseball Game Preview: Credo Gryphon vs. Technology Titans

Credo is 8-2 against Technology since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Gryphon are taking a road trip to face off against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Credo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Credo took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Willits by a score of 6-2. The Gryphon have beaten the Wolverines the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.

Zach McKenna and Jude Pond did most of the damage at the plate: McKenna got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Pond went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Pond is becoming a predictor of Credo's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-11 when he doesn't).

Calistoga hit Technology with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Credo's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Technology, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Credo took their victory against Technology in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gryphon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
