Baseball Recap: Amundsen Gets the Win

Amundsen lost to Taft back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Vikings walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Amundsen got a great performance from Henry Kalmus as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts Kalmus has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shea O'Conor, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Antonio Yanez also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Amundsen's win bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Taft, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.

Amundsen will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
