Basketball Recap: Pendleton Takes a Loss

Pendleton played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Madison County Red Raiders 65-35. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.

Despite the loss, Pendleton still got an impressive performance from Michael Barnett, who posted 18 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Barnett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samuel Ross, who earned nine points.

Pendleton dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Madison County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Pendleton will head out to square off against Hart County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison County and Hazard will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Hazard likes a good challenge.
