Basketball Recap: Cave Spring Comes Up Short

Cave Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-50 bruising from the Carroll County Cavaliers. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Cave Spring's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Carroll County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Cave Spring and Carroll County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Cave Spring (ranked 124th) will meet Christiansburg (ranked 267th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carroll County will challenge Galax at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 333 places (54 vs. 387).
