Basketball Recap: Flowery Branch Comes Up Short

Flowery Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 70-51 fall against the Madison County Red Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-47 back in December of 2024.

Flowery Branch's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Madison County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Flowery Branch Falcons face off against the Eastside Eagles at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Madison County, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Oconee at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (North Oconee has won four straight at home, while Madison County won seven straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
