Baseball Game Preview: Wray Eagles vs. Holyoke Dragons

Wray and Holyoke are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Wray didn't have quite enough to beat Yuma and fell 7-6. The Eagles have struggled against the Outlaws recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Gage Waitman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Gabe Kechter was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Meanwhile, Holyoke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Limon.

Holyoke saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Irving Dominguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Wray's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Holyoke, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Wray might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Holyoke when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
