Salesianum soccer snaps St. Benedict's (N.J.) 71-game winning streak

Overtime goal snaps winning streak of New Jersey powerhouse.
Salesianum (Wilmington, Del.) stunned
St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) on Wednesday, 1-0, on a late goal to snap St. Benedict's 71-game winning streak.
According to Delaware Online, an overtime goal from
Dylan Huber broke a 0-0 tie.
"This certainly has to be right up there as the biggest win in our history, for sure," Sallies coach Scott Mosier told Delaware Online. "I don't know how many people have knocked off the No. 1 team in the country. It's difficult to do."
The Gray Bees had not lost since 2010, when they also endured a 1-0 setback at the hands of Salesianum.
In addition to losing its 71-game winning streak St. Benedict likely will also lose its No. 1 ranking in the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.Salesianum, ranked No. 7, figures to move up in the poll.
