Baseball Recap: Leslie County Comes Up Short

Leslie County's last matchup with North Laurel could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Eagles lost 13-6 to the Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 back in March.

Eli Crisp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Rylan Simpson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Leslie County moved to 7-19 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for North Laurel, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leslie County will welcome Breathitt County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Laurel, they will face off against Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
