North Bend had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cottage Grove Lions with a sharp 8-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 on Tuesday.

North Bend's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Cottage Grove, they dropped their record down to 5-7-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Bend will square off against Astoria on Friday. As for Cottage Grove, they will take on Marshfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.44 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
