Volleyball Recap: Andover Golden Warriors vs. Chelmsford Lions
Andover faced Chelmsford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Golden Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
While Andover ultimately came up short, they really made Chelmsford work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20.
Jessie Wang paced Andover's offense, picking up 15 kills. Wang got some help from Tina Zheng and her 16 assists.
Brianna Cairns had an outrageously good game for Chelmsford as she had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Cairns has posted since back in October of 2024. Gabriella Caires also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Andover fell to 6-1. As for Chelmsford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

As for Chelmsford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Billerica Memorial on the 22nd.
