Baseball Recap: Lakeland Preparatory Find Success

Lakeland Preparatory won the last time they faced Millington Central and things went their way on Wednesday too. Lakeland Preparatory came out on top against Millington Central by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Ryan Pitts made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Pitts was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Wyatt Helton was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peeler Emerson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lakeland Preparatory's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Millington Central, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Preparatory will welcome Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland Preparatory is facing Madison at the right time seeing as Madison is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Millington Central, they will host Memphis Home Education Association at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
