Baseball Recap: Peters Township Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Peters Township, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Chartiers Valley Colts 3-2. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Peters Township got a great performance from Jack Stewart as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Stewart also put up two walks, which were his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Colin Stofik was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Zach Miner was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Peters Township's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Chartiers Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Peters Township will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
