Basketball Game Preview: De La Salle Meteors vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

The De La Salle Meteors will venture away from home to square off against the Evergreen Park Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. De La Salle is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, De La Salle lost to St. Francis on the road by a 61-43 margin. The Meteors were down 53-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Evergreen Park's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Oak Lawn by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since December 27, 2024.

De La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Evergreen Park, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

De La Salle didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Evergreen Park when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for De La Salle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
