Baseball Recap: Millville Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Millville and Vineland meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Fighting Clan by a score of 3-2. The Thunderbolts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Clan earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Millville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Mulharan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Mulharan also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Millville's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Vineland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millville will challenge Ocean City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vineland, they will welcome Lenape at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
