Basketball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgeland Titans. If the Arrows were looking for revenge after losing 66-44 to the Titans when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Ridgeland, the win was the 14th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridgeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Manuel, who posted 17 points and four steals. The game was Manuel's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Braelyn Bailey was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Coming up, Clinton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lanier at 7:30 p.m. As for Ridgeland, they will head out to face off against Raymond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
