Basketball Recap: Westside Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westside had won two straight games and Garlynn Grant did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Westside Wolves really took it to the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-12 win thanks in part to Grant, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Dakota Dale, who posted seven points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Westside's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-14. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Westside and Heights will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Wisdom at 7:15 p.m.
