Basketball Recap: Carolina Basketball Academy Comes Up Short

Carolina Basketball Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Word of God Christian Academy National Holy Rams.

Word of God Christian Academy National was led to victory by Trevor Best and Marcus Jackson. Best went 12 of 20 on his way to 25 points and six boards, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The game was Best's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaevian Alston, who posted eight points.

Carolina Basketball Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Word of God Christian Academy National, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Carolina Basketball Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lab University Prep Regional at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. Word of God Christian Academy National also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Varsity Opponent on December 26th. Word of God Christian Academy National is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.1 points per game this season.
