Baseball Game Preview: Rusk Eagles vs. Bullard Panthers

For the second straight game, Rusk will face off against Bullard. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rusk 4, Bullard 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rusk's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Bullard hitters got past them. The Eagles lost 10-0 to the Panthers on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

For Bullard's part, the result came thanks to Ethan Foster's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Tate Wynne was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kage Korenek, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bullard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Bullard, bringing their record up to 19-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Rusk, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
