The Gloucester Catholic Rams will head out to face off against the Delsea Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gloucester Catholic 1.7, Delsea 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Gloucester Catholic's win against Paul VI wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
The result came thanks to Jude Morgan's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Guy Lynam was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Noah Danza was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Delsea suffered their closest loss since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Triton by a score of 3-1.
Otley Makosky was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.
At the plate, Delsea saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Grippo, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Toby Winfield also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Delsea has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-3 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Gloucester Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Everything went Gloucester Catholic's way against Delsea when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Gloucester Catholic made off with an 11-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
