Neshoba Central has gone 3-0 against Callaway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Neshoba Central Rockets will take on the Callaway Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Neshoba Central fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Vicksburg on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rockets have suffered since November 21, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Neshoba Central had strong showings from Shastyn Lewis, who posted 15 points, and Iyley Denson, who had 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jiar Henry, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Callaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down Columbus 59-40 on Tuesday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Falcons are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Callaway pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Neshoba Central, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-9.

Neshoba Central took their victory against Callaway when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 77-51. Will Neshoba Central repeat their success, or does Callaway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
