Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Falls Short of Sylva Bay Academy in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin Academy can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 43-42 to the Sylva Bay Academy Saints. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in sophomore Lily Hatcher, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Shumock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Franklin Academy nor Sylva Bay Academy have any future games scheduled.
