First Assembly Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 49-38 win over the West Carroll War Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

First Assembly Christian was led to victory by Jonathan "Jj" Davis, Jr. and Briceton Miller. "Jj" Davis, Jr. gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns, while Miller rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, First Assembly Christian was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 487 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carroll only gained 278.

Despite the loss, West Carroll still got an impressive performance from Jayden Milton, who rushed for 278 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Milton's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 238 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Carroll fell to 2-1.

First Assembly Christian will take on Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Carroll, they will head out to square off against Perry County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Carroll is facing Perry County at the right time seeing as Perry County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
