Softball Recap: El Camino Gets the Win

El Camino won the last time they faced Woodland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Oaklee Schwartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Claire Schwartz was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emi Kuwabara, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

El Camino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

El Camino's record now sits at 4-9. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

El Camino will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Casa Roble at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Woodland, they will square off against Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season.
