Softball Recap: Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans

Jay M. Robinson had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-13 to make it six. They lost 17-0 to the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on April 9th.

As for Northwest Cabarrus, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Northwest Cabarrus' part, Haylee Ellis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Ellis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Tatum Krolak and Langston Harrison did most of the damage at the plate: Krolak went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Harrison got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Ella Webb, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Jay M. Robinson nor Northwest Cabarrus have any future games scheduled.
