Softball Recap: Gompers Victorious

Gompers barely beat Mott Haven the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Mavericks 18-3 on Friday. The Panthers have beaten the Mavericks the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mavericks has come to flipping the script.

Gompers' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mott Haven, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Gompers will take on Math Science & Engineering at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Gompers will need to watch out since Math Science & Engineering has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Mott Haven, they will square off against East Harlem at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. East Harlem has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 23.25 runs per game on average), something Mott Haven will no doubt try to take advantage of.
