Basketball Game Preview: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Summit Tigers

The Moffat County Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Summit Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Saturday, Moffat County strolled past Basalt with points to spare, taking the game 41-22.

Moffat County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mena Tucker, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Tucker has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Adams, who posted eight points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.

Moffat County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Summit's game on Thursday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 47-38 win over Battle Mountain.

Summit is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Moffat County, their record is now 9-7.

Moffat County beat Summit 50-41 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moffat County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
