Basketball Game Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. Harlan Hawks

Stevens hasn't had much luck against Harlan recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Stevens Falcons duke it out with the Harlan Hawks at 12:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Stevens is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Wednesday. They were beaten by Sotomayor 83-10. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1300th, while the WILDCATS are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Harlan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 43-39 to Holmes. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Harlan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Stevens suffered a grim 68-42 defeat to Harlan when the teams last played back in January. Can Stevens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
