On Friday, Shadow Creek faced Lake Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Shadow Creek Sharks fell just short of the Lake Ridge Eagles by a score of 70-68. The Sharks' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Eze Nwakamma was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards for Lake Ridge. Those 31 points gave Nwakamma a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abisayo Gbakinro, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Shadow Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 16-2. As for Lake Ridge, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.
