Academy for Classical Education took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Georgia Military College Bulldogs 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gryphons have posted since December 27, 2024.

Academy for Classical Education was led to victory by Brady Balkcom and Camden Bailey. Balkcom went 9-for-20 en route to 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Bailey shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Perry, who posted 11 points.

Georgia Military College's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Academy for Classical Education will take on Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Georgia Military College, they will face off against Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
