Baseball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

The Woodland Cougars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-3 to the Watonga Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pate Nibeck, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Trey Bennett was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Watonga, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Woodland and Watonga will both be playing Medford the next time they take the field. Woodland will head out to face Medford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Watonga will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
