Recap: Hutto Hippos vs. Stony Point Tigers
The Hutto Hippos lost against the Stony Point Tigers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hutto took a 50-34 bruising from Stony Point. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hutto in their matchups with Stony Point: they've now lost six in a row.
Stony Point can attribute much of their success to Leann Bellow, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals and 3 blocks. Bellow has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Shyla Hancock was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Hutto has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Stony Point, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hutto will take on Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenn is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Stony Point, they will be playing at home against McNeil at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McNeil will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 740th, while Stony Point is ranked 166th).
