Basketball Game Preview: Baldwin Park Braves vs. Nogales Nobles

The Baldwin Park Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Nogales Nobles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Baldwin Park is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 1, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 91-37 defeat at the hands of Ambassador. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1105th, while the Lions are ranked 455th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rafael Godinez, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Rojas, who earned ten points.

Even though they lost, Baldwin Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Nogales scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Montclair by a score of 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Nobles have suffered since January 22, 2024.

Nogales dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Baldwin Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Baldwin Park didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Nogales when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory. Will Baldwin Park repeat their success, or does Nogales have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
