Rio Lindo Adventist suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans vs. Pacific Union College Prep Falcons

After a string of three wins, the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Pacific Union College Prep 41-37. Rio Lindo Adventist was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pacific Union College Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Rio Lindo Adventist lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kafili Thompson, who scored 12 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Hunter McNunn was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.

Rio Lindo Adventist bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pacific Union College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Lindo Adventist will be home for the holidays to greet Mendocino at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Union College Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Summerfield Waldorf at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
