Basketball Recap: Hayden Webster's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central Valley over West Valley

Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They lost 66-40 to the West Valley Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1332nd, while the Eagles are ranked 587th).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Webster, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drason Recio, who earned 12 points.

It was another big night for Jordan Heacock, who went 9 of 16 en route to 26 points and six steals for West Valley. With that strong performance, Heacock is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Jayden Miller, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for West Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley will host Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Valley, they will be playing at home against Yreka at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.
