Football Game Preview: Guilford Park Panther vs. Westminster Owls

The Guilford Park Panther will take on the Westminster Owls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Guilford Park comes in on 11 and Westminster on nine.

Guilford Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Decatur with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panther's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Seahawks are ranked 40th).

Guilford Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from A'Yar Reed-Wright, who threw for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Tyler Lee helped Reed-Wright out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards and one TD.

Guilford Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Best and Anthony Griffin. Guilford Park got some further help from Wade Walters: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Meanwhile, Westminster got the win against Atholton on Friday by a conclusive 45-21. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Westminster's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Guilford Park, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
