Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Grantsburg's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Grantsburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Richmond Tigers. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ruby Rengo paced Grantsburg's offense, picking up seven kills. Rengo got some help from Megan Harmon and her eight assists.

New Richmond can attribute much of their success to Jericho Monson, who had nine digs and two assists. That's the most digs Monson has posted over her last six matches.

Grantsburg's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for New Richmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Grantsburg has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Cadott on the 4th. As for New Richmond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Superior on the 4th.
