Preview: Cummings Cavaliers vs. Seaforth Hawks
Cummings has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Seaforth Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cummings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Seaforth is ranked 20th).
Last Wednesday, Cummings came up short against North Moore and fell 44-36.
Meanwhile, Seaforth came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Southeast Alamance 44-29.
Cummings' defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Seaforth, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Cummings was dealt a bruising 52-8 loss at the hands of Seaforth when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Cummings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
