Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Princeton Tigers

Mt. Vernon and Princeton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mt. Vernon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Princeton Tigers by a score of 5-3. The loss continues a trend for Mt. Vernon in their matchups with Princeton: they've now lost three in a row.

Alaina Allyn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
